choosing a review center
Let us first dissect the word “REVIEW.” Re is to Return, or again, or to go back, and VIEW is to look. So, combining these words would come up with the idea of recalling what has been viewed or learned. After graduating from a particular course, a student may consider enrolling in a review center to recall lessons, to cope up with few missed topics and to enhance and what has been taught in school. There lots of review centers in the Philippines and one dilemma is where to enroll?
Different Review Centers, Different Programs?
There are different programs for different review centers. One program is a lecture-typed program wherein there would be a lecturer and a class (its not that hard to understand). Another would be a test-based program, wherein you will be given a test paper, answer the set and then rationalize the correct answers the next day. Module-based is another program wherein the reviewee is given a module and then try to research and answer it for a given period of time.
Dilemma Galore?
But of course! you don’t know where to enroll. Here’s the tip, the first thing you should do is ask yourself which program is best suited for you. Can you handle sitting and listening to a half day or whole day lecture? Or would you rather stay at home and study the given materials. It is really up to you on how you would choose a review center, so CHECK WHAT PROGRAM IS BEST FOR YOU.
Word of Mouth
One marketing strategy of some review centers is by sending a representative to schools to explain their particular programs, boast achievements and lure students in enrolling to their centers. Once you have a review center in mind, you can ask your classmates, friends and people from other batches what they think of this review center. It is not bad to ask every now and then.
Site Visit and Decision Making
Lastly, is for you to do a site viewing. Examine the place where it is located.. is it comfortable for you when commuting? Are there enough parking spaces? Are classrooms clean and conducive to learning? does your pencil touch the shoulder of your seat mate. These are some factors you have to consider in doing your site visit.
After double checking all necessary information of the review center (including the cost), it is time for you to decide which review center is the best. Your decision should be based on your own review needs as assessed by you and NOT by the choice of your friends or anyone else.
